2008/09 G8 GT and GXP

We've developed a true cold air intake system designed and molded to fit the Pontiac G8 GT and GXP. We incorporated all of the features necessary to maximize performance without regards to difficulty or tooling expense. We started witha an air box that is a complete, one-piece molded unit extending downward and outboard of the frame rail. This is crucial since the radiator fans fill the engine compartment with extremely hot air. The box was designed to maximize filter size while creating good alignment to the MAF sensor and the duct work to the throttle body. The open top combined with the hood seal allows the most air possible to all areas of the filter while maintaining a barrier against harmful engine and radiator heat.

To get the air moving, we've created a unique transition tube that couples the air filter to the MAF sensor. It features a large 6" mounting flange for the filter with a velocity stack design to maximize air flow to the MAF sensor. The transition tube mounts solidly to the air box using five stainless steel screws that engage molded-in threaded inserts. On the other end, we use high-gloss black silicone hose to couple to your stock MAF sensor.

On the other side side of the MAF sensor we use a silicone hump hose to help absorb motor rock. Coupled to the opposite end of this hump hose is our custom molded air inlet elbow with a large, gentle radius that keeps the air moving smoothly. Again, we use a hump hose to couple to the throttle body to absorb motor rock. To connect the breather hose, we mold in a brass fitting which accepts a barbed hose fitting. From start to finish, we have strived to create a system that exceeds your expectations. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our product.

Our first set of Roto-fab G8 V8 engine covers for the TVS 1900 S/C.

Here's a look at our prototype 102 mm intake.

We now have Roto-fab engine covers available for the G8 V8 with a TVS 2300 S/C. Also shown is our air intake system with automotive painted fuse relay cover and radiator cover for a complete package.

This customer went with our dry filter for his air intake along with our engine covers, radiator cover and fuse relay cover-all in Liquid Red to match the car's body color. What a difference from stock!

We now have our G8 V8 engine covers available in a powder coat finish with vinyl lettering. Also pictured is our carbon fiber finish plenum cover in red.

We offer a carbon fiber finish plenum cover that is a direct replacement for your stock plenum cover which is under your engine cover. It looks great when used with Roto-fab engine covers!

This customer wanted only G8 colors in the engine covers, so we have Arctic white covers with Liquid Red lettering and Panther Black outline on the "GT". The fuse relay cover was painted to match while the radiator cover as well as the air intake are the Roto-fab standard versions. It's a really clean look that isn't too loud.

Roto-fab Aluminum engine covers feature TIG welded mounts and rubber grommets on the under side for secure mounting. Sometimes its what you don't see that is important!

Here is the temperature on the engine side of the air box on a fairly cool day! The short fan shrouds on the G8 throw as much air to the sides as straight back. This is why it's so crucial to have a good barrier without gaps such as are found on most other intakes. Our air box effectively isolates the filter from the radiator and engine heat.

Our automotive painted engine covers can be matched to your car's body color. With the automotive paint, all of the lettering is actually painted on before the clear coat is applied resulted in a smooth top surface that looks great and is easy to maintain.
